Mario Pisani

Mario Pisani born in Rome on September 8, 1947. He graduated in Rome, Faculty of Architecture, University La Sapienza in 1973 with 110 cum laude and publication of the thesis. Since 2000 he is Professor of Second band at the Faculty of Architecture Luigi Vanvitelli, University of Naples II. The academic year 2007-2008 he teaches History of Garden and Landscape (Icar 18). After graduation is particularly interested in modern and contemporary architecture that analyzes and studies in Italy, in France, in the other nations of Europe and the Mediterranean countries where he has established excellent relationships with universities, cultural institutions and the most important architectural firms. In the eighties and nineties the results of his research, as well as being published in a few books, are presented in numerous magazines such as Italian Controspazio, Domus, Demeter, L’Arca, L’Industria delle Costruzioni, Costruire in Laterizio, Eupalino, Materia, Palladio, and abroad, such as Art Forum in New York, in Barcelona Artics and Landscape since 2008, a monthly magazine printed in Dubai while his research increasingly focus on substantive issues of the History of the twentieth century, not to mention the question of landscape.

Among the works of the nineties are to report to update the entry The city and the architecture of the Encyclopedia of Art, and Postmodernism in the volume dedicated to a series of articles devoted to the theme of Learning from Nature published in the September issue 1999 of monthly Domus. Began in 1993 in collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture of Naples II with a continuing series of contracts for the teaching of History of Architecture. On 23 April 1993 at the invitation of the Department of Design and Construction of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Palermo held a seminar titled “Water, air, earth and fire: meaning, manipulation and artifacts.” In the academic year 1998-1999 is responsible for teaching elements of architecture and urban design at the Academy of Fine Arts Pietro Vannucci in Perugia where he was named Academic.
